The Hon. Charles Johnston is the Executive Chairman of Jamaica Fruit and Shipping Company Ltd. and its subsidiaries. He joined the Board of Jamaica Producers Group in 1975 and became Chairman in 1986. He chairs the Board’s Executive and the Compensation & Human Resources Committees and serves on the Audit and Corporate Governance Committees. Mr. Johnston is the Chairman of A.L. Hoogesteger Fresh Specialist B.V., German Jamaica Ship Repair Ltd., Jamaican Patties Ltd., JP Logistics Solutions Ltd., Lennox Portland Ltd., Seaboard Freight & Shipping Jamaica Ltd and Sun Juice Processors Ltd.  He is a director of Pan Jamaica Group Ltd., Kingston Wharves Ltd., Geest Line Ltd., the Jamaica Public Service Company Ltd., SAJE Logistics Infrastructure Ltd., and Kingston Logistics Centre Ltd., Global Logistics Ltd. and KLC Panama.  He is a past President of the Shipping Association of Jamaica. In 2023 he was conferred with the Order of Jamaica, and in 2006 with the Order of Distinction, Commander Class by the Government of Jamaica and with the Carlton Alexander Award for Excellence by Jamaica College.  In 2008 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica, in 2017 he was awarded a Jamaica Observer Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2018 he was conferred a Doctor of Science degree in International Shipping honoris causa from the Caribbean Maritime University.  Mr. Johnston is a graduate of the Wharton School of Finance & Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania.
